Dori's Tamagotchi

     The first tamagotchi  was  manufactured in 1996 and sold in stores in early 1997.  Back then there where no real versions of tamagotchi so people just called them tamagotchi. These tams became known as P1 or G1 when the P2 and G2 came out so they wouldn't be confused. Tamagotchi where invented by Aki  Maita  who sold the idea to Bandai.  Today Bandai makes tamagotchi along with other toys such as power rangers, ect. Below is a picture of some prototype tamagotchi before the above idea was established. I think it would have been cool if they could open like that, but I am also glad they  came out the way they did  because  the white one on the right looks  kinda weird. Anyway tamagotchi are the number one virtual pets in the world. I am very glad Bandai  decided  to translate the design, otherwise the wouldn't be sold  anywhere else in the world except Japan, where they where first sold. There was even a special anniversary edition made.( bottom, left).
